Federal District Court Judge, Appointed by Trump, Rules the Mueller Investigation is Legitimate

Federal District Court judge, Dabney Friedrich, appointed by President Trump, issued an opinion today denying a motion filed by to Concord Management & Consulting LLC (“Concord Management”), to dismiss an indictment rendered against it in connection with the Mueller Russia investigation. Concord Management claimed that the Mueller probe was not legitimate and argued that Mr. Mueller was unlawfully appointed by Acting Attorney General Rod Rosenstein. The judge ruled that the Special Counsel’s appointment complies with the Constitution’s Appointments Clause. Judge Friedrich is the fourth judge this year to uphold the special counsel’s legitimacy.
