In a complaint filed on Tuesday in San Francisco, Facebook claims Blackberry has infringed on multiple patents for its voice-messaging features in its instant messaging app. These patents include analysis of GPS information and voice-messaging technology.
Facebook argues that Blackberry’s infringements have and will continue to negatively impact its Messenger and WhatsApp messaging platforms. However, Facebook hasn’t yet specified how much it will seek in damages.
Blackberry had filed a similar complaint against Facebook in March, accusing the social media company of infringing on its technology for mobile messaging.
